Every one of us deserves to be happy, confident, and fulfilled.
I didn’t always recognise this. It took overcoming a protracted struggle with chronic depression and anxiety for me to discover the empowering sense of self I now enjoy.
After experiencing the truly tangible benefits of mindfulness, I discovered the incredible power of optimism, humour, and creativity. I discovered a new-found confidence. I discovered the power of being true to myself.
Thinking, reflecting and writing about these topics has proven to be incredibly cathartic for me. My hope is that following Emanation will be a source of encouragement, motivation, and even inspiration for you. (And hopefully you’ll enjoy the odd chuckle here and there.)
The Emma in Emanation
After studying Psychology, English, and Education, I taught English before forging a career as a professional writer in the health and wellness industry. My interests cover all aspects of health: physical, mental, emotional, and psychological.
In addition to writing, I enjoy reading, travelling, trying new restaurants, watching art films, yoga, gym, art, craft projects, interior design, trying to live a natural green lifestyle, and scuba diving. These pursuits, together with family and friends, help maintain my psychological balance. Sort of. Hopefully.
I live in South Africa with my husband, our gorgeous son, and a handsome tabby who sometimes graces us with his presence. (But no, this is not another cat blog.)
